The Hellenic Society of Acoustic Ecology, together with the Faculty of Early Childhood Education of the National University of Athens, invite you to the third Greek Conference on Acoustic Ecology. Co-organizers of the conference are the School of Music and Audiovisual Arts of the Ionian University and the Department of Music Technology Engineering and Acoustics of the Technological Educational Institute of Crete.
The topic of the conference is Acoustic Ecology and Education. It is addressed to educators, parents, scientists, artists, students at all levels of education, and citizens interested in the improvement of the sound environment in education as well as in other settings.
The goals of the conference are: (1) to facilitate the communication between different communities and groups that are directly or indirectly involved with education and the sound environment, (2) to foster creative ways of dealing with soundscapes, (3) to elucidate approaches towards teaching acoustic ecology for different age groups and learning contexts, based on both traditional and contemporary trends in education, (4) to examine the relationship of the educational dimensions of acoustic ecology with other subject such as Music, Acoustics, Ecology, Biology, Bioacoustics, Psychology, Architecture, Urbanism, Medical Science, Law, and Environmental Ethics, (5) to present works of Greek soundscape composers and (6) to present an opportunity for students both at school and at university level to present selected work results on acoustic ecology.
The conference includes oral presentations, panel sessions, ‘coffee table’ presentations, soundscape composition concerts, and workshops.
Registration to the conference is free of charge, on condition that it will be completed within the given deadline.
